Film review: Inside Out

The past few months there are a lot of good movies launched, but one my favorite movie is Inside Out. This movie is release on 2015. Inside Out is the latest animated film of Disney and Pixar co-produced, this movie acclaimed in the world. But why it acclaimed, I think Inside Out bring some resonates for the audience, and movie lets the audience think more deeply about themselves. Many people said this movie is not for children, it for adult, I agree that statement. Inside Out really tell us a lot of experience and feelings, it summarizes our childhood, youth, and even adult in life, it makes us more understand that we are growing by the experience of the previous stage. 

This movie is telling a story about an 11-year-old girl Riley. In her mind there are five emotions, they are Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger. In the movie the five emotions are personification and they control Riley all kinds of emotions, thoughts, and actions. They accompany Riley grow up. Joy is the most frequent emotions, joy helps Riley produced a lot of happiness memories, these memories also establish Riley's personality. These important moments will be recorded as core memory ball, most of these core memory ball are associated with happiness, like having fun with childhood friend and spending time with family. At this time, just get touched by Sadness, these joyful core memory ball will turn into woeful core memory ball.

The story turning point is Riley family move to San Francisco. However, this is not a pleasant experience for Riley. When Riley first day goes to new school, sadness touches the joyful core memory ball make it become a sad memory and also cause Riley cry in the class. This incident has become a sad core memory ball. In order to avoid the sad core memory ball arrive headquarters, Joy decides to remove the ball. But because of Joy and Sadness dispute, all of the core memory balls are lost. At the same time, Joy and Sadness are also fallen in Riley's long-term memory storage area. While Joy and Sadness trying to return to the headquarters, Riley's emotion are maintained by Disgust, Fear, and Anger.

In the beginning, I do not like blue Sadness, do not understand why she be so negative and uninviting. But Sadness have taken an important part in the movie, she through a humorous way to show us some massage.

When we were young, we do not know how to express our emotions, so that when we are happy we will laugh, we will cry when we are sad. We will also feel fear, disgust and anger, just all kinds of emotions are no intersection. And Riley's emotions it is precisely expressing this age situation. In our growth process, we created a lot of good memories. These memories may be is our hobby, toys, cartoons, friends, and idols. Whether these memories are happy or sad, a long time we will forget them slowly or we forget them deliberately, and then these memories it will become the past. 

In Riley's brain, there are the different part, like Long term memory, Imagination Land, Dreaming Studio, and Subconscious area.

Long-term memory: Just not too long in retrospect, it will gradually fade, the last will seen as useless memory are cleared by cleaning staff. That why some people always can not remember.  

In long term memory, Joy and Sadness meet Bing Bong. He is a pink elephant, always wanted to take Riley fly to the moon. He is the forgotten memories of Riley when Riley was young, Bing Bong always take Riley to adventure. Bing Bong and Joy are hit it off, they shared Riley's memories. Because of Bing Bong kindness, he said the fastest way to go back to the headquarters should take the Train of Thought so that they need to take a shortcut. However Sadness considered that taking the shortcut is very dangerous, but Bing Bong convince Joy and Sadness this is the most convenient way to the train station.

Of course, there are have been some things in the shortcut, they too late to catch the train. So that they need to find another way to take the train, and then they go to the Imagination Land. In here all of the things are from Riley's imagine, like the French Fires Forest, Trophy Town, Cloud Town, Lava and Riley Imaginary Boyfriend. In there, all imagine will become true. In Imagination Land Bing Bong also find his rocket, he always wants to take Riley to the moon, however, the rocket was dropped garbage pit. Bing Bong was sad, no matter how Joy consolation he still sad, but Sadness make he cheer up. It so surprised, I did not think Joy's positive and funny are useless. Think deeply, there not everyone is so strong and think positive. People are not always happy without any negative emotions. Although happy every day is good, but if you have no other negative emotions, then you can not show the real you, and you presented happiness may not be the sincere joy. Someday you will begin to collapse.

After a series of efforts, Joy and Sadness finally able to take the Train of Thought. In the train, Joy has taken with Sadness. Joy know that Sadness helped a lot, it makes Joy think that Sadness not only can make Riley. Just did not expect that there are one more Riley's Personality Island are collapsed, the train track broke. Joy and Bing Bong fall into the garbage area and Sadness fall into the long-term memory. In here Joy finally understands that human emotions are not always happy, but not sad. Riley cries because of Sadness, but Some things that have Sadness so that other come to help. Sadness always depresses her behavior before, she just touches the emotional control when she are unable to endure. Until this time, Joy has realized that Sadness are very important to Riley. 

In order to save Riley, Joy needs to look for Sadness and send Sadness to the headquarters. But now Joy falls into the garbage area, how Joy can get back to the headquarters? In the garbage area, they will disappear very soon so that they need to be fled immediately. 

In this part, it really touching. In order to let Joy bring Sadness go back to the headquarters, Bing Bong use his rocket and sacrifice himself, successfully helped Joy get away from the garbage area. However, Bing Bong gone forever. I never thought that Bing Bong will sacrifice himself because he most wants to take Riley to the moon and let Riley remember he. These two points are also the reason why Bing Bong are being here. Bing Bong's gone let me recall that when I was young, in my childhood, do I have Bing Bong? 

At the end, Joy and Sadness go back to the headquarters, but now the emotional is out of control. Joy let Sadness to control, she believes that this time is Sadness can help Riley, and she succeeded.
