Chinese New Year has fun in Hong Kong

Chinese New Year is the most important festival in Hong Kong. Hong Kong citizens will so many prepare to have a great Chinese New Year. Before Chinese New Year, Hong Kong is getting ready and there have different types of activities. We can early experience  the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year.  

In 2016, this is the year of Monkey. Everywhere can see that have a lot of decoration about the monkey. In Chinese New Year people will like to say something good word to bless other. They also like to use the "monkey" to give lucky to people, like"猴年行大運", it means good luck in the year of Monkey. In Chinese New Year, during that period Hong Kong have many interesting places organizing different activities.

During Chinese New Year, people like to buy some flower and pun it at home. It besides to decorate the house, also hope the flower can bring some luck to them. Different kind of flower they have the different meaning, like Narcissus it means auspicious, joy and happiness. So that, before Chinese New Year, people will like to go to the flower market to buy some flower, it also called "年花". In Hong Kong, there have many places to sell flower. There are total have 15 parks and playgrounds are holding the Chinese New Year Flower Market, all of them are free admission. All Flower Market are opened before Chinese New Year, so many people will like to go to the Flower Market at the New Year's Eve.

Besides, in New Year Day Hong Kong have an annual event that is International Chinese New Year Night Parade. The parade is one of Hong Kong's most anticipated annual events and has been sponsored by Cathay Pacific Airways for 18 years. Fantastic floats and spectacular performances by groups sourced locally and abroad will be welcoming Chinese New Year with a grandeur unique to Hong Kong. The performances groups will pass through the main road in Tsim Sha Tsu. Overseas performances invited to Hong Kong include giant creations, delightful stilt walkers, extravagant drummers, energetic cheerleaders and cultural dances. In order to the overseas performances groups, the show also invited some local performances groups to performances the traditional dragon and lion dances, percussion bands, ballet and modern dances. Most people love this show and they will like to stand out the road and enjoy the show.

The Chinese New Year period in Hong Kong is packed with a wide array of events.On the second day of Chinese New Year night, in Victoria Harbour, you may enjoy a fantastic fireworks display. This is the one of the main celebration in Hong Kong. Most people will like to go out and come to Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsu harbour to find a good place to have a good show. In there you can have a strong festive mood with all Hong Kong people.

Many Hong Kong people do not like to visit relatives on the third day of Chinese New Year because it has a custom that in the third day of Chinese New Year is easier have an altercation so that many people will like to go to the temple to blessing. The most popular temple is Che Kung Temple. Hong Kong people like to go there to buy a little windmill. Also, there has a windmill outside the temple, and it let people turn it. However, turning the windmill are prescribed, male turn to the left side, female turn to the right side. People turning the windmill it mean can throw away the bad luck.
